Day 2 at the Beach

We did MUCH better today with packing and it was at least 5 degrees cooler today so we were able to stay a little longer and enjoy ourselves even more. Huntington Beach State Park is terrific if anyone is ever in the Myrtle Beach area. We spent more time playing in the sand today, Daddy is excellent at making "sand art". We also enjoyed our new waterproof case for our camera and Allen got some great shots of Kaitlyn playing in the waves.

Day 1 at the Beach

Day 1 at the beach: HOT!!! It was in the mid-90s and we weren't very smart about what we packed and had to LUG from the car to the beach...and back. The kids had a great time and Tyler showed no fear of the ocean at all....in fact, he ran right in! He LOVES to eat the sand which isn't so great and his poor little eyes are all red from rubbing his sandy hands on them when he was getting tired.

Tinker Bell!

Kaitlyn finally "earned" her new Tinker Bell costume (by staying in bed at nap time or night time). Here are a few shots of the princess - the last one where she was attempting to fly!

Pizza Biscuit Bears

Ok, I was REALLY proud of myself on this one so I had to share! The kids LOVED them too - BONUS! I can't take credit for the idea, I saw it in a magazine....not my most nutritional meal, but at least it was fun!

In the Navy....

Just got these photos of my brother and wanted to brag. He just returned from a short trip out to sea and sent us these pics....(For those of you who don't know, he's stationed on a sub at Pearl Harbor, HI - the USS Columbia). He gets out in December and we can't wait to have Uncle Brad home!

Just a bump....

We went to Chick-fil-a last night for dinner - kids eat free on Thursdays so we were "treating" ourselves to a cheap night out. Tyler decided to do a back flip off of a bench in the play area and crash his head onto the metal window frame. Of course I was standing right there and watched helplessly. I know, Mother of the Year! We were worried that it was more than just a knot on his head so I took him to the after hour children's clinic. Of course by the time we got there and waited over an hour he was acting fine. The Doctor diagnosed him with a bump on the head. So much for a cheap evening!! (At least he was ok).

While Tyler and I were at the doctor Allen and Kaitlyn had a little photo shoot. She was modeling her new Gymboree nightgown. Thought I'd share a few pictures, so cute!

American Adventures

We went to American Adventures this morning with some friends (a children's amusement park). Kaitlyn, Tyler, Mary & Matthew had a blast! Kaitlyn and I rode the roller coaster and the scrambler together - both big kid rides! She did great! Tyler loved riding the train - he's REALLY into "Choo Choo" right now. Sorry the pictures are so crummy - Kaitlyn got the camera wet and I didn't realize that it was fogged up until we were already at the park. UGGH!
