Quiet Week

Slow week, not much activities going on with us, everyone is trying to get over some sort of illness....
Tyler came home from school last Wednesday and threw up. Kaitlyn got it on Friday. Not a pleasant experience for anyone and she missed her friends Birthday party on Saturday. Fortunately they have both recovered from the flu and Mommy and Daddy seem to have escaped it.
Now Tyler and I have a dreadful cough and icky runny noses. The fun never ends!

Kaitlyn Grown Up...

Kaitlyn told my Mom today that when she was 25 she wanted to write songs. When she is 55 she wants to be a teacher because all of her teachers will be 100 and will all be dead!! (Not funny if you are one of her teachers, otherwise, hilarious!!)

Tyler had his 2 year check up today. He is 27.5 pounds and 34" tall - 50th percentile for both. His head is in the 96th%.....all those brains you know!

Happy Birthday Tyler!

Happy 2nd Birthday Tyler! We met Namma, Papa and UB at our favorite Mexican restaurant for dinner. They sang Happy Birthday to Tyler which I thought would scare him, but he LOVED wearing the sombrero! He even shared with Kaitlyn! It was a train themed birthday with lots of Thomas train stuff and a cool airplane loopie thing for his GeoTrax set.

Grand Cayman Trip

Here are a few pictures from our trip. We really didn't take that many. The best pictures would be from our snorkel trip where we went swimming with stingray. I was terrified...we'll see if we can't find some of those from some one else on the trip and post later...

Kids Birthday Party

I'm behind in posting, sorry! I had grand plans of blogging while I was away - but then once I was in Grand Cayman I decided I would rather be on the beach than in my hotel room!

We had a Birthday party for both kids on the 3rd at Jumpits. They had a great time with all of their friends. The funniest thing was when the kids were blowing out the candles on their cupcake-cake. Tyler kept blowing out Kaitlyn's candles - they picture below says it all!!

Happy Noon Year!

We went to an event in Smyrna on New Year's Eve hosted by Radio Disney. It was VERY crowded but the kids got party hats and horns and had a good time. The balloon drop at noon was also sort of a bust, but we managed to get balloons for both kids so they were happy.

Tyler - not so happy to be stuck in the stroller!

Happy Birthday Kaitlyn!

Monday, 12/29, was Kaitlyn's 4th Birthday! Hard to believe how fast she is growing up!! Here are some pictures from our little party and of the princess castle cake that I made for her.

Christmas Celebrations

Happy New Year! Yes, I am very behind in blogging, so here are several posts to catch up on our activities for the past week.
First, we had Christmas dinner on the 24th with my parents. They also joined us on Christmas Day - Santa brought lots of great presents!

Allen's Dad and his wife (Grandpa Larry and Grandma Judy) were able to join us on the 26th. They drove down from Charlotte and we all had a great time catching up with them! They got the kids this huge stuffed Lion that they can sit on - they love it!

On Saturday morning, our dear friends "Uncle Derek and Aunt Carla" came over to play. They got the kids these adorable signs for their rooms - we hung them outside of their doors. It was nearly impossible to get a picture of Kaitlyn modeling her new top that they gave her - she wouldn't stop being goofy! But, she does look adorable!

Allen's Mom (Mimi) came down from Myrtle Beach on Saturday and spent the next two days with us. Some how she managed to escape getting any pictures with the kids! Sorry, not sure how that happened. Tyler got this adorable giraffe that he can ride around on and you can see the excitement on Kaitlyn's face with the doll that looks just like her!
