In the Navy....

Just got these photos of my brother and wanted to brag. He just returned from a short trip out to sea and sent us these pics....(For those of you who don't know, he's stationed on a sub at Pearl Harbor, HI - the USS Columbia). He gets out in December and we can't wait to have Uncle Brad home!

Just a bump....

We went to Chick-fil-a last night for dinner - kids eat free on Thursdays so we were "treating" ourselves to a cheap night out. Tyler decided to do a back flip off of a bench in the play area and crash his head onto the metal window frame. Of course I was standing right there and watched helplessly. I know, Mother of the Year! We were worried that it was more than just a knot on his head so I took him to the after hour children's clinic. Of course by the time we got there and waited over an hour he was acting fine. The Doctor diagnosed him with a bump on the head. So much for a cheap evening!! (At least he was ok).

While Tyler and I were at the doctor Allen and Kaitlyn had a little photo shoot. She was modeling her new Gymboree nightgown. Thought I'd share a few pictures, so cute!

American Adventures

We went to American Adventures this morning with some friends (a children's amusement park). Kaitlyn, Tyler, Mary & Matthew had a blast! Kaitlyn and I rode the roller coaster and the scrambler together - both big kid rides! She did great! Tyler loved riding the train - he's REALLY into "Choo Choo" right now. Sorry the pictures are so crummy - Kaitlyn got the camera wet and I didn't realize that it was fogged up until we were already at the park. UGGH!

Fun in the Rain

It's raining, it's pouring....it's time to put on our swimsuit, raincoat and hat! Daddy took Kaitlyn out to splash around in the rain for a few minutes tonight. I took TONS of great pictures so here are a few of our favorites. She had to come in when the lightening started getting bad - she didn't want "her hair to get curly" (meaning she didn't want to get struck by lightening!)

The BEFORE pose....

Boy that Girl can JUMP!

The AFTER pose....

18 months old!

Tyler turned 18 months old on Friday. I just can't believe how quickly time has gone by! He had his wellness visit today and only one shot. He did great and big Sister was very supportive (and very thankful she wasn't getting a shot!) He weighs 26 pounds and is in the 50th percentile for weight. He was 33" and in the 80th percentile for height. His head measured in the 99th percentile - either all of those curls or all of those brains!!!

Christmas in July!!

On Saturday Kaitlyn, Tyler and I made a visit to Santa. He was taking a break from all of his hard work at the Northpole and was visiting some stores near our house. Kaitlyn wouldn't leave his lap and Tyler wanted nothing to do with him so I've just included a quick shot I got of him before he ran off! Kaitlyn also decided that Santa said "Yo-Ho-Ho" like a Pirate instead of "Ho-Ho-Ho" ....pretty cute!

GREAT NEWS!

Allen went with me to the endocronologist this morning and we have exciting news to share! I got a clean bill of health ---- I'M CANCER FREE! Hooray! Thanks so much for everyone's support and prayers. These past few months have been really tough for us and we couldn't have done it without you! We are so blessed to have such great friends and family!

Outlook for the future: He said I had a less than 1% chance of this cancer coming back. He said that I was at more risk of dying driving to his office than from thyroid cancer! However, we will still take precautions and I'll be monitored every 6 months. In December I'll have the Thyrogen injections again for two days followed by another dose of radiation (smaller this time) and then the next day I'll have a body scan. If the results from that scan are still clear then I'll only have to have blood work taken every 6 months going forward! Yeah! Thanks again.

Couldn't Sleep

I couldn't sleep (what's new) so I thought I'd check e-mail and do a quick blog post before trying to sleep again.

Wanted to include a few pics of the kids from the past week. Kaitlyn LOVES to pose now when we take pictures and I think this was Tyler's attempt at copying his big Sister! It's been raining a lot the past few days so no new swimming pictures....hopefully soon, I know our little mermaid misses the pool!

I see my Dr. in the morning so hopefully I'll hear good news and I'll be able to start sleeping again!!! I'll post an update about the appointment soon.

Happy 4th!

We hope everyone had a wonderful and safe 4th of July holiday! Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Just a quick note to say we are all fine and enjoying the summer. Allen is going to be home this whole week - YEAH! Since it is hard to read, Kaitlyn's shirt says "Miss Independence!". I found it to be quite appropriate - gee, I wonder where she gets that trait?
